France striker Nicolas Anelka was quoted as saying he was hoping to sign for Premier League side Bolton Wanderers in the next few days.
"My wish is to return to the Premier League and it could materialise soon," the former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City forward, who is under contract with Turkish side Fenerbahce, told Sunday's issue of French sports daily L'Equipe.
"I have an agreement with Bolton on the basis of a four-year contract," he added. "I hope everything will be finalised early next week."
Anelka, 27, has won 31 caps for France, scoring seven goals, but was not included in the World Cup squad.
