The Republic of Ireland's International football consultant Sir Bobby Robson was taken to hospital during the first-half of Ipswich's clash with Crystal Palace today.
The former England manager (73), who was paraded in front of the crowd at Portman Road after being named honorary club president, complained of feeling unwell 10 minutes into the game.
Robson, who previously held the reins at Ipswich as well as Barcelona and Newcastle, was selected by Republic of Ireland manager Steve Staunton as a consultant in early January.
A statement released Ipswich Town FC read: "He was attended by the club doctor and, as a precaution, was transferred to Ipswich hospital.
"The club has no further comment to make."
Robson's cancer specialist, Dr Hugh Davies, was Robson's guest at the match and accompanied him to the hospital.
