Liverpool's France international Djibril Cisse is expected to officially join Marseille on loan on Wednesday.
The striker, who was originally called up by coach Raymond Domenech for the World Cup in Germany, was forced to stay at home after breaking his right leg during France's 3-1 win in a friendly against China on June 7.
Tipped to join Marseille during the summer transfer window, Cisse was reported to be close to a move last week after club sporting director Pape Diouf revealed the deal was "almost sealed".
Cisse, 24, is expected to complete a season-long loan deal on Wednesday before being presented to the media.
