Soccer: Derry City winger James McClean is set to join Premier League side Sunderland after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of €400,000 plus add-ons.
The 22-year-old, who featured for the Airtricity XI in the recent Dublin Super Cup, held talks with Peterborough United last month and was also tracked by Wigan Athletic and Blackpool.
However, Steve Bruce has won the race for the Northern Irishman, who will travel to the Stadium of Light for a medical on Monday.
McClean was recently called up to the Northern Ireland for the Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands.
