LOI review:St Patrick's Athletic surrendered second place in the Airtricity League Premier Division to Drogheda United this afternoon, slumping to a 2-0 home defeat to their guests at Richmond Park.

After progressing in the Europa League qualifiers during the week, Pat’s suffered something of a hangover and were punished by goals from Gavin Brennan and Peter Hynes.

Brennan struck after 10 minutes when he was gifted the ball by Barry Murphy and promptly beat the Pat’s goalkeeper with a low strike.

Pat’s might have struck back in the second half after Ryan Brennan was dismissed for a nasty challenge on James Chambers, but was the 10 men of Drogheda who hit the net again.

Bohemians moved into sixth with a 1-0 win over UCD after Evan McMillan scored from a 23rd minute corner.

Bohs were up against it when Dave Scully saw red for the third time this season after lashing out at an opponent in the 76th minute, but the held on for all three points.
