Soccer:With little sign of an improvement in the weather conditions in Dublin this morning, a question mark remains over tonight's rescheduled Airtricity League meeting between Shamrock Rovers and UCD (7.05pm).

There will be an initial pitch inspection at the UCD Bowl this lunchtime before a final decision is taken on whether the match goes ahead at 5.30pm.

Rovers can wrap up the Premier Division title with a win over the Students but were forced to put the champagne on ice for at least 24 hours last night as the torrential rain in the capital forced a postponement.

Rovers are eager for the match to go ahead tonight with their final game scheduled for Friday evening when they could, if they fail to win against UCD, be caught by Sligo Rovers.
