FAI High Performance Director, Ruud Dokter, has signed a new five year contract with the association intended to keep him in the position up until the end of 2020.

The Dutchman, who moved to Abbotstown from the Dutch federation in 2013 has, amongst other things, been working on the association’s Player Development and Emerging Talent programmes over the past couple of years and has played a key role in the launches of the Under-17 and under-19 national leagues.

“I see many opportunities for Irish football and I am looking forward to the coming years with the FAI,” said Dokter in an association statement.
