Javier Mascherano's agent has made it clear that the Liverpool midfielder would jump at the chance to join Barcelona, while the man he would most likely replace is not happy and is threatening to jump before he is pushed.

Mascherano has been linked with a move to the European champions, and agent Walter Tamer claims his client would be very keen.

"If a club like Barcelona want to bring you into their ranks after having completed such a brilliant season and having won everything, obviously as a player, you are going to say, 'Yes, I want to play there,'" he told RAC-1 programme 'Tu Diras'.

"It is an honour for Javier that a club like Barca pay such close attention to him, especially after the incredible season they had. I believe that a transfer would be feasible. If Barca really want him, he will sign for them.

"He would have a very easy job at Barca. Sometimes we talk and joke that the only thing he has to do is run, rob the ball, and pass it on to all the superstars in front of him."

But Tamer does admit that the move could be made more difficult if Liverpool agree to sell Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.

"What if Xabi Alonso also leaves? Surely, Rafael Benitez would not want to have both his central midfielders go. It will be difficult, although Xabi's future does not depend on Mascherano and vice-versa.

"The transaction would certainly happen, but the first to leave will have more options."

Alonso's future look more certain, however, after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez admitted a move for the Spaniard looks unlikely as he tries to prise Ronaldo away from Old Trafford.

Yaya Toure would be the obvious casualty if Mascherano were signed by Barca and is considering his future, according to his agent.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with Arsenal in the past and a fresh approach has been mooted this summer. However, Dmitri Seluk, has claimed the 26-year-old has received more attractive offers from elsewhere, with Manchester City said to be interested.

"There are many teams interested in Toure," Seluk told Sport. "He will not go to Arsenal because he has better offers and nor will he go to Germany, but his future could be in Italy or in England.

Seluk continued: "Barca have not complied with the gentleman's agreement that we reached.

"(Barca president) Laporta says that Valdes is the best goalkeeper in the world, the same about (Lionel) Messi, with Xavi, with (Andres) Iniesta... but with Toure, never anything,

"If he is not good enough to play in this team then that will be that.

"He has spent two seasons earning a minimum salary. He earns less than many of the first-team regulars and less even than some of those that hardly play at all.

"We have put our faith in the word of the club, but they have not respected it.

"Clearly he is a professional and if the club do not respect him then he would to go and that would be a shame because he feels at home at the club and in the city. He has adapted marvellously.

"Toure has done everything for Barca and always thinks about the team. He has never cause any problems and remember that last season he played a number of games while injured.

"This term, after Rafa Marquez picked up an injury, he played as a centre back and did so without complaining, while (Seydou) Keita, for instance, said he did not want to play at left-back in the Uefa Champions League final.

"Therefore, I think Toure deserves more recognition on the part of Barca."
