Nigel Reo-Coker knows nothing of any reported interest from Everton and is fully committed to the West Ham cause, his advisor has confirmed.

The Toffees are reported to have joined the hunt for the West Ham captain, who was the subject of interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United in August.

The reports come less than 24 hours after Alan Curbishley was confirmed as the new Hammers boss and suggest he now faces a fight to keep one of his prized assets.

The 22-year-old, though, remains intent on performing for West Ham.

"Nigel knows nothing of Everton, West Ham have not said anything to Nigel or to me, which would have to be the case," his advisor Tony Finnigan explained to skysports.com.

"As Nigel has already said earlier this week, he is as committed as ever to West Ham and will continue giving 100 per cent for them until told otherwise.

"He is an ambitious player and like every ambitious player wants to play at the highest level with the best players. He has the ability to do this, but only time will tell as to whether this happens.

"One thing is for sure, Nigel is as proud as ever to be wearing the captain's armband at West Ham. He knows about Billy Bonds and previous captains and what it means to lead West Ham."

Finnigan refutes suggestions that Reo-Coker has not been doing his best for The Hammers this term.

"I defy anyone to look at things like the pro-zone stats and suggest Nigel is not giving 100 per cent for the cause," he continued.

"Anyone who knows Nigel, knows what type of player he is.

"Alan Pardew realised and that is why he was one of his first signings and why he made him captain. They say a manager always appoints his captain in the image of himself and that speaks volumes."
