Soccer Awards: Six candidates from five different eircom League clubs complete the shortlist for this year's eircom / Soccer Writers Association of Ireland (SWAI) Personality of the Year Award.
Drogheda United boss Paul Doolin was already named Philips Manager of the Year, but also makes the shortlist along with Drogs defender Brian Shelley, who was recently crowned the PFAI's Player of the Season.
Cobh Ramblers boss Stephen Henderson is nominated after an outstanding campaign where he steered his young side to promotion to the top flight.
Damien Richardson, who picked up the award in 2005, is in the running again after guiding Cork City to FAI Cup success. Longford Town lost the final to Cork and striker Dave Mooney is shortlisted for finishing as the Premier Division's top scorer, despite the club getting relegated.
The shortlist is completed by St Patrick's Athletic boss John McDonnell, who overcame a difficult patch mid-season to ensure the Inchicore outfit finished second and guaranteed Uefa and Setanta Cup qualification in the process.
The Goalkeeper of the Year Award includes title winning goalkeeper Dan Connor who played a key role in Drogheda's league success.
Bohemians' Brian Murphy is among the final trio after an impressive first season for the Gypsies since returning home from the UK. Barry Murphy (Shamrock Rovers) completes the trio of nominations.
The winners will be announced during the awards dinner at the Radisson Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin on Friday, January 11th.
