Robin van Persie has pulled out of the Holland squad for tomorrow night’s World Cup qualifier against FYR Macedonia through injury.

The Arsenal striker suffered a groin problem in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat of Scotland and will now return to his Premier League club for further treatment.

Holland boss Bert van Marwijk has opted against calling up a replacement for the former Feyenoord man.

The Dutch are running away with qualifying Group Nine, and currently hold an eight-point lead over both Iceland and Scotland.
