WICKLOW SFC SEMI-FINALS:ST PATRICK'S have qualified for Wicklow's senior football final but Baltinglass and Bray Emmets must meet again who decide which of them will provide the opposition after playing a draw at Aughrim yesterday.

The game in which the Saints defeated Blessington 1-13 to 0-15 was the better of the two semi-finals.

The Wicklow side, who lost the 2009 final to Rathnew, led 1-8 to 0-6 at half time after playing with the wind, the goal drilled to the net by Paul Earls from a penalty in the 29th minute. But it was Mayo man Austin O’Malley who was their man of the match as he drilled over six points.

Blessington came with a strong second half and some excellent scores from centre-forward Dean Siney.

The other semi-final between favourites Baltinglass and Bray Emmets, which ended in a 0-6 apiece draw, was a poor affair. Baltinglass held a slender 0-4 to 0-3 lead at half-time but then scored only two points, 30 minutes apart, when playing with the wind.

The replay will take place next weekend.
