AN EASE in the going makes Star Performer an interesting contender for the Trinidad and Tobago Handicap at Pontefract today.

The gelding has shown all his best form with give in the ground, so that his good efforts on a firm surface this term have been highly encouraging.

Star Performer has every chance here judged on the form he showed when scoring on top-of-the-ground at Carlisle in August.

Now that underfoot conditions have moved in his favour, he should be hard to beat.

Missile Toe has gradually run into form this autumn, finishing second on his last two starts, and looks set for his first win of the year in the Maraval Handicap.

He was beaten just a head at Yarmouth and a neck at Leicester last month, each time having the rest of his rivals well beaten off.

This looks a good chance for him to go one place better.

Henley Wood can gain a belated fourth success at Fontwell in the Frank Cundell Challenge Trophy Handicap Chase.

He was odds-on to achieve the feat here last month and looked sure to reward his supporters until unseating Glen Tormey five fences from home.

The form of his August course and distance success has worked out well and he should be given another chance tomorrow on a track which suits him ideally.

Elsewhere on the card, Re Roi and Scud Missile can, each take advantage of a step up in trip after finishing strongly to take third last time out.
