US TOUR:PÁDRAIG HARRINGTON found three birdies on his back nine to record a one-under-par 69 as he completed his first round at the rain-delayed Travelers Championship in Connecticut.

Harrington, who had started at the tenth, birdied the fifth, sixth and eighth to trail leader Jim Renner by six shots.

Renner made a blazing start to his rain-delayed first round. The 27-year-old American shot a six-under 29 on his opening nine to race to the top of the leaderboard.

While Renner was only able to lower his score by a single stroke on his way back to the clubhouse, it was enough to keep him just ahead of five players at six under.
