GAELIC GAMES: In a surprise development late last night the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee allowed the appeal of Cork footballer Anthony Lynch, who will now be eligible to play in tomorrow's Munster final replay at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Lynch was red-carded during last weekend's drawn match after elbowing Kerry's Kieran Donaghy. The decision was released without explanation and the grounds of the successful appeal are not known at present.

Meanwhile, Wexford footballer Matty Forde will not know until this morning whether he is eligible to play in this evening's All-Ireland qualifier against Fermanagh in Enniskillen.

Forde informed last night's meeting of the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee that he was unable to attend for his personal hearing as scheduled.

In response the CDC have fixed a further meeting for this morning. Should Forde be unable to attend the meeting, the matter will heard in his absence and a decision will be made on the player's fate.

The issue at stake is the accusation that the player stamped on an opponent during the Leinster semi-final against Offaly three weeks ago.
