International news: The majority of Ireland's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Switzerland are due in Dublin this morning, with Brian Kerr scheduled to take the first training session of the week at Malahide this afternoon.
Despite the fact that Liam Miller did not play any part in Manchester United's draw with Everton there were no reports of any problems arising out of any of the games in England yesterday.
There was no suggestion from the FAI either that Kerr would add any other players to what is currently a panel of 22 before being completely clear on who is currently available, something that won't be finalised until after this evening's English League games.
The Swiss, meanwhile, have named their squad of 20 for their games against the Faroe Islands and Ireland. Kobi Kuhn has retained the bulk of the squad that travelled to Portugal for the European Championship finals earlier in the summer, although he is without a number of prominent figures from that panel.
While Alexander Frei is suspended for spitting at Steven Gerrard during their game against England, Jorg Stiel, Stephane Chpuisat and Fabio Celestini have all retired from international football, leaving the veteran
coach with some problems, particularly in attack.
Johan Vonlanthen, who became the youngest player to score in a European Championship finals game with his strike against France, is included, but that was the only Swiss goal of the finals and after a goalless draw with Northern Ireland earlier this month Kohn will be hoping that his side can rediscover their scoring touch against the Faroes on Saturday.
Likely to be of particular concern this weekend will be the form of Hakan Yakin who did so much to open up the Irish in Basel last year, but who has not enjoyed the best of fortunes since at club level, with a move to Rangers from Stuttgart falling through yesterday after the player and the Ibrox club failed to agree terms.
Kohn has included four players who did not feature in Portugal with Johann Lonfat and Alexandre Rey, as well as the uncapped Thomas Haberli and Stephane Grichting, coming into the panel.
The FAI said yesterday that Saturday's game against Cyprus is sold out, but in the event that any tickets for the match are returned an announcement will be made on their sale at lunchtime tomorrow
Meanwhile, striker David Trezeguet and midfielder Alou Diarra have pulled out of France's opening World Cup qualifiers because of injury.
Trezeguet and Diarra will miss Saturday's match against Israel in Paris and the game against the Faroe Islands in Torshawn fours days later. No details of their injuries were given.
Trezeguet and Diara will be replaced by Manchester United's Louis Saha and AC Milan's Vikash Dhorasoo. The call-up of 30-year-old Dhorasoo is a surprise as the former Olympique Lyon midfielder has not played for his country in almost four years.
Dhorasso has earned only two caps with Les Bleus. Saha was part of the France squad that was eliminated by Greece in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2004.
