Mike Ford tips Burgess for the top

Kane Douglas remains Leinster's only absentee for tomorrow's European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Bath against the Aviva, meaning coach Matt O'Connor will be able to call on the likes of Cian Healy, Jamie Heaslip, Rob Kearney and Sean O'Brien as the province look to dominate the set-piece.

Looking to mastermind Leinster’s downfall tomorrow is Bath coach Mike Ford, Ireland’s former defensive coach.

Ford spoke to Gavin Cummiskey about how he wound up swapping Rugby League to coach Union and another man who has recently swapped codes, Slammin' Sam Burgess, the man mountain who last year guided the South Sydney Rabbitohs to their first NRL since 1971 and is now learning his new trade at The Rec.

In his column Liam Toland writes tomorrow will be the perfect opportunity to see the bruising Burgess in action, but suggests Leinster also have to be extremely wary of the elusively brilliant Jonathan Joseph.

Just days after it was announced he will leave The Sportsground at the end of the season Mils Muliaina is set to start for Connacht in their tough Challenge Cup fixture away at Gloucester tonight after recovering from injury.

Spieth on the heels of Rory

Rory McIlroy's status as the world's best golfer is beyond argument, however snapping away at Rory's heels are a very promising group of young Americans, including 21-year-old Jordan Spieth, who perhaps looks the best placed to consistently challenge the world number one.

With just six days left until the Masters at Augusta, where Spieth finished ties for second last year, the Texan is currently in tied 28th at the Houston Open on three under par, six shots behind runaway leader Scott Piercy.

Padraig Harrington is tied for 65th after an opening round 71, while Phil Mickelson has hit form at the right time with a six under par 66.

Interview: Pat McQuaid

The former president of the Union Cycliste International (UCI), the governing body who will always be at the centre of the doping scandal within cycling, spoke in depth to Ian O'Riordan about his legacy in the sport. You can read the full transcript of the interview here.

Tyrone need a super sunday

Tyrone's league future hangs in the balance as they welcome Kerry on 'Super Sunday' knowing only a victory will keep Mickey Harte's side in Division One.

Dublin retained the Leinster Under-21s Football final with a 3-10 to 1-12 win over Kildare at Pairc Tailteann last night, with Cormac Costello starring in a full-forward line which delivered 3-7.

Donegal face Mayo in their final league game and Martin McElhinney has rubbished suggestions his county are reliant on a core of players and lacking in strength in depth.

LOI

The League of Ireland continues tonight and Bray Wanderers head to Sligo with Maciej Tarnogrodzki at the helm following the departure of Alan Mathews and his coaching staff.

In the night’s other fixtures Cork City welcome Derry, Bohamians travel to Drogheda and Shamrock Rovers welcome Galway.
