Gudjon Thordarson's future as manager of Stoke City is still very much in the balance despite guiding them to the First Division this season.
The Potters, who lost to Walsall in last year's play-off semi-final, finally secured promotion with a 2-0 final win over Brentford at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
But Thordarson's one-year contract expires at the end of June and, at present, no meeting has been planned with the club's Icelandic owners to discuss a new deal.
Thordarson's also revealed he has had offers from other clubs, although he would like to stay and build on his success at Stoke.
Asked about the chances of him leading Stoke in the First Division next season, Thordarson responded: "I haven't got a clue. I have stood firm during the season, my players have stood firm and it's about time that they (the board) stand firm.
"They haven't got much time to make a decision. But I've said before that I've got no worries about my future and my ability - I don't have to prove anything.
"I think the relationship that I have with my players is something I would love to maintain and continue to work with them.
"Last autumn I had some requests about taking other jobs in England, but I denied them at that time because I thought my future was with Stoke. I wanted to finish the season and job I took on."
Stoke certainly finished the job in style as a Deon Burton strike and an own goal by Ben Burgess clinched them a deserved victory in front of 42,523 spectators in Cardiff. But many of the players' contracts are due to expire this summer and Thordarson wants the consortium to reach a decision quickly so that he can plan for next season.
"They own the club and are in charge," he added. "But in football they can't sit up in Iceland and wait to make decisions - they have to make them quickly.
"There are players who will be out of contract soon. We brought them in for a short period of time and they need a decision, I need a decision.
"I need to have a look at what chances I have got elsewhere. I know about interest elsewhere and I have got to give them my answer.
"To be honest I would love to stay at Stoke, but there are things that need to be sorted out before that decision can be taken."
