BASKETBALL: The Killarney Lakers' midweek defeat to the Tralee Tigers leaves the qualification placings in the Southern Conference still up in the air going into the final weekend of the regular season.

In short, Tralee need to beat Neptune tomorrow to leapfrog their Kerry rivals into the third play-off spot. If Limerick fail to beat Southern Conference champions UCC Demons tonight at the Mardyke Arena, Tralee could find themselves in second spot, despite a campaign that was only revived in recent weeks.

The Northern Conference is already sorted with Ballina top, St Vincent's second and Killester assured of third spot. Killester's season appears to have come off the rails as both their Serbian imports, Branislav Tomic and Alec Lekic, are out with ankle injuries.

MEN'S SUPERLEAGUE: Tonight: UCC Demons v Limerick Lions, Mardyke Arena, 8.0; St Vincent's v Shamrock Rovers Hoops, St Vincent's, 8.0. Tomorrow: Star of the Sea v Killester, UUJ, 7.15; Ballina v UCD, Ballina SC, 8.0; Tralee Tigers v Neptune, Tralee, 8.0.
