Charlie Swan appears well on his way to a ninth successive National Hunt jockeys' title, and the Tipperary-born rider was seen at his strongest when completing a 95 to 1 treble at Cork on Saturday. The champion kicked off with the Arthur Moore-trained Windgap Hill, who outjumped Dons Delight at the last to take the Muscrai Securities Maiden Hurdle.
Swan also had to work hard to land both the two mile chases on the card. Penndara led four out in the Buttevant Chase but needed a strong drive on the run-in to withstand the persistent challenge of Mulkev Prince by half a length.
Limerick handler Austin Leahy provided the final leg of the Swan treble with Sea Fisher in the Castletownroche Handicap Chase. The six-year-old steadily wore down long-time leader Ardshuil in the straight to lead after the last.
Lord Singapore, best known as a useful three mile handicap chaser, showed his versatility when takingo the two-mile Mallow Handicap Hurdle from Sigma Comms.
Winning trainer John Joe Walsh said: "I am very surprised he was able to win a hurdle race over this trip, and he is warming up nicely for the Paddy Power Handicap Chase."
