THE Tyrrell Grand Prix team starts its 30th year in Formula One with a new car, new engine, new drivers and a new sponsor. Its chairman, Ken Tyrrell, said yesterday when he launched the 025 model that the team's aim was to finish every race and to score world championship points in at least half of the 17 events.

"The new car is a development of the highly regarded 1996 chassis with a new Ford engine that promises both competitive power and excellent reliability," be said.

The Dutch driver Jos Verstappen (24), joins 30-year-old Finn Mika Salo this season.
