UCD-0-14, Trinity College-0-6GAA/Colours matches: UCD triumphed in the football colours match at Trinity College sports grounds in Santry yesterday. UCD, coached by Dublin county selector David Billings, began well with frees from corner-forward Peter Lawless putting them ahead in the early stages.

Tomas Conroy of Westmeath then sent over their first point from play and although Mick McGuinness responded in kind for Trinity, a point from Lawless restored UCD's advantage.

But Trinity then took control as their midfield played some good ball into the attack. And with the UCD defence stretched at this stage, Trinity pegged their opponents back to just the bare minimum with points from Paul O'Donnell and Seán Maguire.

UCD introduced Darren Magee, brother of Dublin defender Jonathan, in the second half and with Offaly midfielder CiaráMcManus reopening their account soon after that, UCD began to pull away. David Hanley impressed with some fine scores while the UCD defence conceded just one point from play in the second half.
