Wexford 0-18 Antrim 2-9:WEXFORD CARVED out a victory over Antrim in yesterday's Casement Park sunshine and clinched themselves promotion to Division Two next season.
Wexford were dominant for most of the match and led 0-10 to 0-5 at the break, with Ben Brosnan rifling over a 45 and another free-kick in injury time after the Saffrons had, out of the blue, closed the gap to three.
After 50 minutes, with Barry, Brosnan, Lyng and Banville busy in attack, and Molloy dominating at full-back, Wexford led 0-13 to 0-7 before Antrim, despite having Brian Neeson and Justin Crozier sent off, rallied. After a five-man scything move, Michael Magill fired a rocket to the Wexford net and when Michael McCann pointed a minute later it was Wexford 0-14, Antrim 1-9.
McCann hit another point 19 minutes from time, before the double dismissal, but the Saffrons’ only other score was a goal from a penalty by McCann on 39 minutes.
