Leeds striker Mark Viduka has been dropped for the second time in a week after another falling-out with boss Peter Reid.
The rest of the squad flew to England's south coast for today's match with Portsmouth without the Australian striker, who was fined substantially after being late for last week's 4-1 defeat by Arsenal the day after bad time-keeping at training.
On Thursday, Reid said Viduka had been as "good as gold" since disciplinary action was taken and that he would be in the Pompey party. But Reid confirmed yesterday afternoon: "Mark Viduka did not travel with the rest of the squad following a training-ground incident."
This latest setback could be the end of the former Celtic frontman's Elland Road career and casts a cloud over Leeds' attempts to haul themselves out of the relegation zone.
Reid may be relieved Leeds' tough trot of fixtures is over - but he must still expect flak to be flying at Fratton Park. The Yorkshire club sank to the bottom of the Premiership for the first time ever last weekend, following a trio of defeats to Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
