DERMOT WELD yesterday pledged to take his time before committing Definite Article to Saturday's Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.
The Irish Derby winning trainer may not decide until tomorrow's final declaration stage whether to bid for his second Group One prize in seven days with the four year old.
"There is no hurry and I am in no rush," Weld said. "I want to look at other races for him and see the likely make up of the Eclipse.
"And I want to see what the ground is likely to be he might need a little more give than there is at Sandown."
Weld landed his first Irish Derby with Zagreb last Sunday and could become the first trainer to land both races in the same season since Vincent O'Brien did so with El Gran Senor and Sadler's Wells in 1984.
Definite Article was backed from 16 to 1 in to 13 to 2 for the Eclipse with William Hill on Tuesday.
