NFL DIVISION THREE/Wexford 1-11 Antrim 0-12:WEXFORD TURNED up the heat but it was too late to secure promotion despite a fully merited two-point victory over Antrim in this clash at Wexford Park yesterday afternoon.

Despite defeat, Antrim have secured promotion along with a place in the Division Three final. But despite battling back from a dreadful start they allowed Wexford to nick it with points from Ciarán Lyng and Shane Roche.

Brian Malone set up Eric Bradley for a goal early on and Wexford looked well-placed despite playing into the breeze. It was no surprise when Antrim began to battle back but Wexford still led by 1-6 to 0-8 at half-time.

The sides were level, 1-9 to 0-12, with 12 minutes remaining, but Antrim failed to score again and Wexford took advantage.
