Argentina 27 Wales 25: An inexperienced Wales side lost the first Test to Argentina in Puerto Madryn last evening but emerged with huge credit.

Wales took the lead in a breathless early spell, with Mark Jones and Ian Evans tries either side of a score for the Pumas from Juan Manuel Leguizamon.

But two sin-binnings before half-time left Wales short-handed and Argentina wing Jose Maria Nunez Piossek made them pay with a try to give the home side a 20-12 half-time lead. A Francisco Leonelli try sealed the Pumas' win, with James Hook's late effort not quite enough for Wales.

South Africa trounced Scotland 36-16 in Durban on Saturday where tries from Schalk Burger, Breyton Paulse, Andre Snyman and Percy Montgomery helped to seal the win.
