Sir, – The Government’s deployment of the Army Ranger Wing to Mali is probably more about its campaign to obtain a seat on the UN Security Council than anything else. It’s a pity that it does not show as much commitment to solving the crisis in the Defence Forces in relation to pay, conditions and the retention of key personnel. – Yours, etc,
