We would like to invite applicants for the position of Editor of the Irish Examiner.
The Editor will lead and develop a content strategy consistent with the brand, values, market strengths and the development potential of the Irish Examiner.
The Editor has responsibility for editorial policy, providing comprehensive journalism, ensures accuracy and fairness whilst adhering to high quality standards.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and respected journalist with objectives and values aligned with the Irish Examiner and with the wider Irish Times Group. This experience will be allied with a successful track record of leading change with a key focus on digital development.
S/he must demonstrate a leadership style that will set the strategic editorial direction for the organisation as well as the resolve and resilience to implement and deliver agreed objectives.
The person appointed will implement a digital change management strategy that reflects a performance orientated culture in a progressive news publishing organisation.
As a member of the Irish Examiner senior management team, the Editor will help support the long term commercial success of the organisation by proactively engage with marketing and commercial opportunities and the use of technology to optimise revenue.
S/he will represent and act as an ambassador for the Irish Examiner and further strengthen its reputation as a respected news organisation.
