Property Journalist

Applications are invited for the role of property journalist.

Property is a key commercial area for The Irish Times and an important part of our editorial coverage.

The person appointed to this role will write engaging news stories and features across our Residential and Commercial property areas, for both print and online. Working under the direction of the property editor, they will be expected to provide editorial assistance in sourcing and placing content on our digital and print channels. They will work closely with our features and audience teams to deliver strong content and ensure it is published and promoted to best effect.

The person appointed will write news stories and analysis of events and trends in the sector for our property, news or features sections.

The appointee must show an ability to work independently and with others in initiating and developing news and features. The person appointed must also possess initiative, excellent judgment and decisiveness.

The ability to develop a wide range of contacts through excellent interpersonal skills is important in this role. Good organisational skills are essential as well as the ability to meet demanding deadlines.

The salary and other terms and conditions of this appointment will be based on the agreement between The Irish Times and the National Union of Journalists. This is a fixed term contract.
