The role will assume overall responsibility for delivering the best possible quality video content from internal and external sources, across all Irish Times platforms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in video and experience of managing and leading change in the area of visual media.

Applicants should be capable of showing strong leadership to drive change in a constantly changing multimedia environment. They should have very strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The role involves working with other departments and directing our team of videographers, making key decisions on the best use of resources, to illustrate stories in digital and print. A good knowledge of photography would be a distinct advantage.

Candidates should have excellent videography and editing skills and be capable of  producing compelling, informative and exciting content, while at all times maintaining the professional quality and ethical standards of The Irish Times. Excellent editorial judgment is key in this role. 
The appointee will be able to work in a fast, accurate and efficient manner, under deadline and other pressures. The capacity to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. 
The salary and other terms and conditions for this position will be based on the Agreement between the Company and the National Union of Journalists.
