The office has evolved as we all know, driving a need for employers to do the same in order to support new ways of working. Not only do employees want more freedom and flexibility in their working lives, but this flexibility is also a beneficial strategy for employers to take advantage of. Flexible workspaces and hybrid working models are enabling businesses to evolve their office space set-ups, reducing overheads and costs significantly.
Flexible workspaces have been around for a long time now, with a proven model that offers greater flexibility and gains to the businesses that utilise it. Short-term contracts from as little as one month, space to grow or scale back as needed, customisable office options to reimagine the space layouts and configuration; drawing many businesses into flexible workspaces and away from more traditional offices.
Business owners are reviewing how to utilise the office space while also enhancing connectivity and engagement at work, transforming the office into something employees value coming to, as well as making business sense from an investment viewpoint.
Some companies are trialling rotation systems and hybrid working, lowering the number of staff in an underutilised office daily, while enhancing employee engagement for days on-site.
Iconic Offices chief property officer, Eoin Joy says “We have helped thousands of companies find their perfect workspace by working off a consultative, solution-first approach. Whether it is phone booths, collaboration spaces, internal meeting rooms, focus spaces or internal hotdesking areas, we can make it happen. Now more than ever we need to think about how exactly our clients want to work within the spaces, and often that’s about a lot more than just having desks for everyone. We tailor our approach to fit our clients’ specific needs with the aim to increase productivity and to build a better connection and culture within each company’s own space.”
A recent survey conducted by Savills and Dublin Chamber across 500 professional companies in Ireland, from SMEs to large global organisations, have said that they are focused on reconfiguring the office layout based on new working practices. Of these businesses 44% have already made these changes while a further 40% intend to do so. These findings show that a significant portion of Irish businesses have already adapted to the ever-evolving way of working.
What we are seeing at Iconic is that many employers are unsure of how to take the first step in adapting to these changes. Businesses are seeking assistance in rethinking their office layout to align with this new way of working and want to understand how to best utilise the office in a way that benefits the business both culturally and financially. Iconic has introduced new innovations and technologies to visually demonstrate options within the office space for the client, allowing them to feel excited and confident in their choices.
Iconic Offices chief commercial officer, Lianne Kavanagh says, “We have worked with just over half of our clients in the past 12 months to help them reimagine their workspace for better utilisation, varying layouts, and placing emphasis on collaboration. Creating custom solutions is something we have been doing for 10 years now, so adapting to change is what we know. Our goal is to ensure the workspace is fully utilised and enjoyed by our clients’ employees, whilst also making business sense for them.”
At Iconic Offices, the services, the space and the contract lengths are fully flexible, so their team work with each individual client to create a plan that works for them, that can evolve over time.
