Dell Technologies Forum to help businesses uncover new growth opportunities

Virtual event on November 3rd to showcase transformative technologies that enable organisations to innovate, grow and stay secure

Over 250 business leaders, IT experts and technology thought-leaders are expected to attend the Dell Technologies Forum event virtually on November 3rd this year, which is run in partnership with Intel, Microsoft and VMware.

As organisations look to build upon the recovery that has taken hold, the Dell Technologies Forum taking place virtually on November 3rd will help businesses to uncover new growth opportunities being unlocked by technology.

Although usually taking the form of a one-day conference, the Forum will feature a series of online sessions and will demonstrate how transformative new technologies can enable businesses to innovate and scale-up their success whilst ensuring they protect their most valuable asset – their data.

Among the wide range of speakers at this year’s Forum is Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies who will give his thoughts on our data-driven future and Aongus Hegarty, president of International Markets, Dell Technologies who will speak about the business-critical importance of cyber resilience.

With the emergence of the on-demand economy over the past year or more, companies are increasingly in need of IT infrastructure that can adapt with speed and flexibility to the needs of the modern workforce and lifestyle.

As a top 10 Irish legal firm, Ronan Daly Jermyn is an example of a business leading the way. With the help of Dell Technologies, RDJ set about modernising its IT infrastructure to transform their legal services.

In doing so, the legal firm has boosted the speed of its applications by up to 60 per cent, providing the Ronan Daly Jermyn team with real-time insights that result in better decision making. It has also facilitated the company in rolling out remote working for over 250 of its employees.

The success of RDJ’s digital transformation strategy comes at a time when many others organisations are struggling to handle and unlock valuable insights from increasing amounts of data. According to one of the findings from the Global Data Paradox Study developed by Dell Technologies and Forrester Consulting, 61 per cent of organisations in Europe believe they are data-driven but only 21 per cent are prioritising its use within their company.

I hope that through this year's Forum, business leaders will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to modernise their IT infrastructure

The Forum will help to address this paradox by showcasing how companies can modernise their IT infrastructure, so that it meets data where it lives – at the Edge. By 2024, the International Data Corporation (IDC) predicts that there will be an 800 per cent increase in apps at the Edge. The Forum will also explore the benefits of AI, Cloud, as-a-Service and 5G technology so that companies can unlock the power of data and scale their technology needs at speed.

This year’s Forum will also see a focus on how businesses can use the latest technologies to take positive action towards creating a more diverse and inclusive culture within an evolving workforce. Jason Ward, vice-president and managing director at Dell Technologies Ireland will be joined by Anne O’Leary, CEO of Vodafone Ireland for a panel discussion to share their experience of managing the changing landscape of work and how they have been supporting their employees and customers through this period of change.

Commenting on the launch of Dell Technologies Forum 2021, Jason Ward, vice-president and managing director, Dell Technologies Ireland said: “It is now clear that we’ve evolved into a digital-first world and an economy driven by data. This has helped us all to transform the way we do business, work, learn and communicate. But for organisations to succeed into the future, they’ll need to unlock the value of data at the Edge.

“The Dell Technologies Forum offers an opportunity to prepare Irish businesses for a data-driven future and highlight how new technologies can support innovation and growth. Most importantly, it will ensure that companies prioritise their cyber resilience as they continue their journey of transformation.

“I hope that through this year’s Forum, business leaders will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to modernise their IT infrastructure, so it is fit for a data-driven age.”
