Highfield Healthcare is a leading provider of acute and specialist mental health and nursing home services. Located in Dublin 9, this is 314-bed private facility currently employs over 400 staff from over 40 countries.
Currently run by the sixth generation of the Eustace Family, Highfield Healthcare has continued to grow and advance since its establishment in 1825. In 2012 a new hospital with state-of-the-art facilities was opened on the Swords Road, Whitehall, to focus on mental health services. This expansion included an 11-bed general adult acute admission unit, a 12-bed day hospital and a Specialist Rehabilitation Unit alongside the five units that specialize in Psychiatry of Later Life.
Highfield Healthcare has also earned the reputation of being one of Ireland's leading specialists in dementia care and old age psychiatry, providing the highest standard of care in a unique setting. Our state-of-the-art Alzheimer’s Care Centre (ACC) has 154 beds across seven specialist alzheimer care units, each providing person-centred care to those with complex needs. Alongside the ACC we also have a smaller, 49 bed facility, Elmhurst and Desmond, conveniently located just off the Ballymun road.
Looking to the future, there are a number of planned developments within our mental health services for 2019. These include: increasing the acute admission services to 20 beds, opening a second day hospital and expanding the specialist rehabilitation services. This is an exciting time in Highfield and we are looking for dynamic staff to work in shaping the design and the development of these new service offerings.
