Touring Ireland this summer? Check out the new Irish Beer Map

Discover the local influences, artistry, and alchemy behind Ireland’s world-class beers

The map aims to raise awareness of the Ireland’s talented and passionate craft brewers who have rejuvenated the independent microbrewing industry in Ireland over the last 15 years.

With staycations all the rage this summer, a brand new resource has just been launched to help Irish people to learn more about the provenance of their favourite beers. While Ireland has a rich food culture, to date, provenance has not been associated with brewing beer. The Irish Beer Map is an online database which lists local microbreweries nationwide and highlights an eclectic range of beers and brewing inspiration.

At the heart of Ireland’s thriving microbrewing industry is an ethos of innovation and creativity, and each brewery brings its own personality to its beers.

While Ireland has a rich food culture, to date, provenance has not been associated with brewing beer. The Irish Beer Map aims to help Irish people to learn more about the provenance of their favourite beers, and discover complementary food pairings.

Beer terroir

Similar to wine ‘terroirs’ in France, Ireland can offer its own ‘brewing tourism’ where people can visit specific regions to learn about the local influences, and artistry and alchemy behind Ireland’s world class beers.

The map aims to raise awareness of the Ireland’s talented and passionate craft brewers who have rejuvenated the independent microbrewing industry in Ireland over the last 15 years. Local breweries are part of the fabric of their communities, providing positive impacts from an economic, social and environmental perspective to the surrounding regions. The vast majority of breweries participating in the initiative have sustainability measures on-site and are committed to developing further efficiencies in their operations.
