Vhi 360 Health Centre Carrickmines, which officially opened its doors in February, is a 5,000 square metre, five-storey multi-disciplinary Centre which is pioneering a new model of healthcare in Ireland. A model which will take a 360 view of patient health including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to ultimately improve outcomes.
Vhi 360 Health Centre Carrickmines has an expanded range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound and a bone density imaging Dexa scan. The state of the art diagnostic services are available alongside a suite of personalised healthcare programmes delivered by a multi-disciplinary team trained in integrative care. These bespoke healthcare programmes, which include health coaches, physiotherapy, Pilates and psychotherapy, will enable Vhi clinicians to provide a more proactive and integrated approach to patient health.
The Centre, which is located just off the M50, is also home to an expanded Urgent Care Facility providing treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, minor procedures and out-of-hours emergency dental treatment. There is a dedicated paediatric floor designed with child friendly treatment rooms including a special sensory room and a specialist ADHD Clinic.
Vhi chief clinical officer, Dr Nicholas Young said; “Our overarching aim is to help our customers live longer, stronger, healthier lives and the Vhi 360 Health Centre Carrickmines is the physical representation of this ambition which will transform our customer’s experience of health and wellbeing.
“Vhi has a long history of innovating in healthcare in Ireland, we introduced urgent care clinics which are now a hugely important and well established part of the healthcare landscape. We know our customers’ needs are evolving and they want to be more proactive in their own healthcare, they want a joined up experience that enables them to live healthier lives. Here at Carrickmines Vhi customers will have access to integrated, proactive healthcare which we know will lead to better health outcomes.”
“Our ambition is built on the principles of integrative care. Customers will have consultations that link general health outcomes and lifestyle. So a care plan may include traditional medicine – as well as lifestyle care in areas of sleep, resilience, environment, movement or complementary therapies such as pilates and yoga which will be held in our dedicated studios.”
The Vhi 360 Health Centre at Carrickmines has been custom designed to support this 360 approach, with multiple collaborative spaces where care teams can meet and plan individual health programmes. Natural light is prioritised while noise has been reduced in order to create calm, bright and quiet spaces. Public areas are largely digital free with seamless technology solutions such as MRI machines with added features to reduce stress and anxiety.
Driving innovation and change in healthcare
Vhi 360 is now Ireland’s largest urgent care network – including the 360 Health Centre in Limerick and its Vhi SwiftCare Clinics in Swords and in Cork.
“Vhi has a growing network of healthcare facilities that are making a meaningful difference to people’s health and wellbeing,” says Dr Young, “and the Vhi 360 Health Centre model builds on this legacy of healthcare provision.
“Our new flagship facility Vhi 360 Health Centre at Carrickmines is the latest offering from Vhi and is enabling us to deliver this model of care in a bespoke building with highly trained clinicians who are passionate about supporting our customers and patients on their journey to better health.”
