Aercap did more than 130 leasing deals and returned $1.2 billion (€1 billion) to shareholders over the third quarter of the year, the aircraft finance giant said on Monday.
The Dublin-based lessor, the biggest player in its global industry, confirmed that it signed 134 lease agreements, including for 24 wide-body aircraft, used for long-haul travel, in the three months ended September 30th.
Aercap repurchased 20 million of its shares for an average of $58.25 each, a total of around $1.2 billion during the same quarter, the company said in an update issued on Monday.
The group bought 33 aircraft, including 16 new technology Airbus jets and three Boeing 737 Max, along with nine engines and five helicopters.
