£20 million sterling (#30.62 million) contract to provide desktop-managed services to Northern Ireland's five education and library boards was awarded to ICL, the IT services company yesterday.

In the 10-year deal, which will be implemented through the British government's Private Finance Initiative, ICL will supply to 600 desktops at 24 sites across Northern Ireland.
