Five executive directors of the property group, Dunloe Ewart, received total remuneration of just over £670,000 (€850.72 million) in 1998, according to the group's annual report.
The executive chairman of the company, Mr Noel Smyth, received no remuneration. Two years ago, during a rights issue, Mr Smyth said he would take no remuneration from Dunloe Ewart for two years.
The executive directors who received remuneration are: Mr Philip Byrne, managing director; Mr Timothy Kenny, finance director; Mr Noel Murray, marketing director; Mr Barry Gilligan, Northern Ireland director; and Mr Stewart Harrington, who stood down as an executive director in February 1999 and became a non-executive director. Mr Gilligan was appointed to the board in November 1998. The group averaged 4.7 non-executive directors during 1998 and they received total remuneration of ú94,949.
