July 28th: Mr Thomas Hudson was crushed to death when a block masonry wall collapsed in Longford.

July 20th: Mr Sean Tracey and Mr Robert Dunne were buried alive when the soil in their trench gave way in Newbridge, Co Kildare.

July 14th: Mr Thomas Smith fell to his death from the roof of a house at Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan.

February 23rd: Mr Richard Cooney was trapped by the movement of a bulldozer, then crushed underneath its wheels at Cahir, Co Tipperary.
