Accuris, a telecom software solutions provider, has secured a multimillion pound contract to develop an automated telephone number management system for Eircom. The first phase of the contract, valued at £2 million (€2.54 million), was the provision of a new service identification system (SID) which supports public switch telephony network and ISDN services.

Future phases include delivery of a new version of SID to manage Eircom's leased line services and another to support number portability, the latter being a regulatory requirement. Both will be operational this year.
