Agilent Technologies, the Hewlett-Packard offshoot, has established a separate operation in the Republic under general manager, Mr Kevin Sweeney. It will be located beside Hewlett-Packard's sales and services headquarters in Blackrock, Dublin.

Agilent Ireland predicts revenues of $30 million (€2.9 million). It employs 18 people. Agilent emerged from Hewlett-Packard's decision to realign itself into two independent companies. Agilent now comprises the former test and measurement equipment arm of Hewlett-Packard. The company employs 42,000 people worldwide, with a revenue goal this year of $9.4 billion.
