The Cork-based pie and soup company was founded by Cullen Allen (Cully) and Colum O’Sullivan (Sully) in 2004, and now supplies all major food retailers in Ireland.

Both Mr Allen and Mr O’Sullivan will continue to manage all aspects of the business.

“We are pleased to be expanding our international presence into Ireland with Cully & Sully, a leading chilled brand that has delivered consistent, profitable growth since 2004,” Irwin D. Simon, chief executive of Hain Celestial, said in a statement today.

“We hope to utilise Cully and Sully's knowledge and expertise for Hain Daniels [a subsidiary of Hain Celestial] and here in the United States as we move chilled fresh soups to the North American marketplace," he added.

Colum O’Sullivan said the move will provide Cully & Sully with the opportunity to broaden its product offerings into other categories and into the UK.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
