Swift Fine Foods says a new annual €1 million deal with Tesco will create 10 new jobs in Co Monaghan.

Since first supplying its Chef Cuisine brand to Tesco Ireland in 2012, Swift has increased its product range to 20 and its ready handmade meals are now sold in 100 Tesco stores around Ireland.

Robert McElwaine, owner of the company, said the deal was a huge boost. “We knew we had a quality product that could fill a gap in the retail market,” he said. “Tesco has recognised the level of quality in our offering.”

The company was part of the 2012 Tesco/Bord Bia supplier development programme and the continued relationship with the food retailer has helped to support a total of 100 jobs.
