Aircoach, the bus company, has signed a deal to carry air passengers between the terminus at Dublin Airport and Aer Rianta's long-term car-parks during the summer season. In addition, a Bill establishing the office of the Aviation Regulator, which will set airport landing charges, has passed the second stage of the Seanad. The Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke, said the office was being established to separate the role of Aer Rianta shareholder - i.e. the Government - and the regulation function. Mr William Prasifka, a former member of the Competition Authority, has been appointed regulator designate.
