Irish-headquartered Altobridge has secured a major new contract with Malaysian communications firm Maxis Berhad.
The deal will see more than 300 mobile broadband sites deployed throughout Malaysia, bringing lower-cost 3G services to rural communities.
The sites will use
Altobridge's technology, which enables clients to cut the cost of mobile services through data optimisation using its "data-at-the-edge" technology.
"Optimising and managing voice and data at the edge of the network delivers savings of over 40 per cent in mobile broadband transmission costs," according to chief executive Mike Fitzgerald. "DatE offers service providers a compelling solution to their spiralling 'big data' delivery costs while, at the same time, dramatically improving end-user experience."
The company, which has bases in the US, China and Malaysia, operates in more than 30 countries worldwide.
