Last week the Alzheimer Society of Ireland unveiled its website: www.alzheimer.ie. This site was developed to provide information on the disease, contact phone numbers and entitlements for sufferers and their carers. Detailed information on legal and financial issues relating to Alzheimer sufferers is also included.
According to the site, once a diagnosis of dementia has been made it is wise to move quickly to put in place various legal and financial elements to safeguard the future of the sufferer, dependants and family.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland may also be contacted at 42 Northumberland Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, tel: (01) 284 6616 or fax: (01) 284 6030.
