ANGLO IRISH Bank has obtained summary judgment orders for €35 million against a businessman arising from unpaid loans for property developments extending from Cork to Prince Edward Island in Canada.
No defence was offered to the bank’s application.
The judgment was obtained against Richard Fitzgerald, Rose Lodge, Blackrock, Cork arising from loans to himself and others and loans to three property companies, Shanagarry Developments Ltd, Richard Finbarr’s Property Company Ltd (in receivership) and MDZ Ltd, (in liquidation).
All three companies have or had registered offices at Fitzgerald House, Grand Parade, Cork.
The loans were advanced between 2006 and 2008.
The €35 million sum is made up of separate sums of €29.9 million; £1,066,539 sterling and 5.8 million Canadian dollars.
Yesterday, Clodagh Marry, for Mr Fitzgerald, indicated there was neither consent nor opposition to the bank’s applicaton for summary judgment and no defence was being offered.
