The six executive directors at Anglo Irish Bank enjoyed a 31 per cent pay rise in 2000, with each earning an average of #658,166 (£518,347).
The directors are: Mr Sean FitzPatrick, the chief executive; Mr Willie Barrett; Mr Peter Killen; Mr Willie McAteer; Mr Tiarnan O'Mahoney; and Mr John Rowan.
Their total remuneration package was boosted substantially by a 76 per cent increase in performance bonuses, to an average of #299,833 each. The bank paid an annual bonus of #1.4 million to the six executives and a further #410,000 was awarded as a deferred bonus.
Salaries rose by 8 per cent to #1.6 million or #266,666 each. They also shared benefits totalling #119,000 and received pension contributions of #437,000.
The bank's five non-executive directors - chairman Mr Tony O'Brien, Mr Billy McCann, Mr Paddy Wright, Mr Anthony Coleby and Mr Michael Jacob - received a 28 per cent increase in fees which were, on average, #42,000.
Anglo Irish Bank reported a very strong full-year performance last year with profits up 50 per cent to #133.6 million.
