In an article carried in Business This Week 2 on October 13th last, under the heading "Canada Life again says no to survey", it was erroneously stated that notwithstanding Canada Life's participation in The Irish Times personal pension survey in 1996, it was placed last. In fact, it came third out of six participants. The article further inferred that the survey in 1996 included a Canada Life with-profit pension policy when it did not.
Reference was made to Canada Life's refusal to participate in the survey under review, but failed to mention it had participated in other industry surveys.
The Irish Times regrets these inaccuracies and apologises to Canada Life for any loss or damage caused to it.
Readers purchasing pension policies should take independent advice when deciding what is best suited to their needs.
